WORKS ON PAPER

Watching Over

A delicate graphite sketch of a swan resting among reeds, its head turned protectively toward two ducklings paddling nearby in the water below. The barely-there pencil work leaves much of the paper untouched, giving the whole scene a hushed, almost dissolving softness feathers rendered in light, careful strokes rather than heavy shading. The composition's real subject isn't the swan itself but the quiet act of watching: the tilt of the head, the closeness of the ducklings, a small, wordless moment of care caught mid-swim.
