Two sculpted busts sit side by side -a smooth white plaster reference cast and a rougher, hand-built clay study made in response to it. The clay version keeps the same tilt of the head and calm, classical expression as its reference, but every surface shows the process: visible tool marks, slightly uneven curls, a texture the original doesn't have. It's less a copy than a conversation proof of the hours spent looking closely enough at a form to be able to rebuild it by hand.
