Reflection

A watercolor exploring the idea of a spirit animal a person floating face-down in still water, and where their reflection should be, a panda sits calmly among bamboo instead. Rather than showing a person transforming or wearing an animal's likeness, the piece reverses the usual logic: the human is the reflection, and the panda is the truer, steadier self looking back. Soft wet-on-wet washes keep the whole piece gentle rather than surreal, letting the concept do the work.
