CHARACTER DESIGN

From Sketch to Sculpt

A four-character design set shown in two stages pencil concept sketches on top, matching hand-sculpted clay figures below. A bearded old man in a beanie, a bat-eared creature in a formal jacket, a grumpy hooded blob, and a long-necked orange bird-like figure each move from loose, exploratory linework into fully realized, textured sculptures with personality intact. What stands out is how faithfully the clay versions honor the sketches' quirks — the tangled beard, the scowl, the awkward proportions proving the character was already there on paper, waiting to be given form.
